Aluminum Modular Reservoir holder.

Biomek 2000 Definition

The Aluminum reservoir holder is designed to be used with Acme-Automation thermal devices. There are to ways to define the holder. If you do not intend to use the gripper to move the holder then use 1. It is the simplest. Otherwise use 2.

  1. Copy then Edit the Thermal device definition you are using to account for not only the Thermal device but including the difference in z height relative to a standard Modular holder i.e. ( current Z height offset + 4.2mm).
  2. Copy each of the modular reservoir modular definitions you intend to use and add the +4.2mm to the Z height of each new definition. Then use those definitions in the standard holder definition on your method.

How do I edit Bioworks modules?

In the Bioworks Edit application select <EDIT>,<Labware>,Click Modular reservoirs, Select and Copy a module then name it Thermal ¼ or something definitive. Edit the Height . This definition will have to be imported into any labbook requiring its use.

Operation:

Allow the modules to chill ahead of time . It is best if a foil seal is employed to minimize spillage and condensate or contamination. If using shallow modules like the ‘Twinivoir’ pack mini gel paks under the module before refrigerating to expedite and improve thermal contact.
