DescriptionThis device is used to facilitate automated use of the Bio-Dot apparatus on liquid handlers. The device allows registration of the apparatus and adjustments along the X axis in a landscape orientation (BiomekÔ 2000 / FX).

Installation (BioMekÔ 2000)Insert the supplied Bioworks V3.1c labbook disk and import into the Biomek PC.

Once imported you will find the definition listed under ‘Devices’ Bio-Dot App. Use this definition in the initial configuration along with a 96 well flat atop it. Locate the device on the Right side of the Biomek 2000 to allow routing of the tubing. You can use the Biomek Vacuum control icon (lighting bolt) by dragging it over the device graphic and filling out the dialog box for the intended function. The entire device can be rotated for use on the left however a copy of the definition must be made and the X offset labware position difference field must be edited to reposition the logical definition.

The rubber registration bumpers can be adjusted to center or offset according to system requirements. Automatic vacuum control systems are available from ACME-Automation to allow unassisted operation of the process. Contact Acme-Automation for details.
